ALL THINGS RUSSIAN, NOVEMBER 14TH THROUGH 21ST, 2009
The 14th Annual Russian Festival on November 21th, with week long events starting on the 14th, offers the Kalamazoo community a family event showcasing all things Russian. To foster personal relationships and to encourage the exploration of various cultures, the Kalamazoo-Pushkin Partnership, the Portage District Library, WMU’s Lee Honors College, WMU’S English Department and The Haenicke Institute for Global Education present "All Things Russian".
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14 - "GOLOSA" AND "RUSSIAN FIELD"
The week's festivities kick off with "Golosa" University of Chicago Choir and "Russian Field", musicians from Pushkin, Russia and Reception in collaboration with the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music, at 8 P.M. on Saturday, November 14th, at the Kalamazoo First Congregational Church, 129 S. Park Street, on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Park Street. Tickets may be purchased through Miller Auditorium Ticket Office - (269) 387-2300. Adults $15, Seniors $12, Students $5. 8:15 P.M. Concert with Victoria Evtodieva, Soprano and Dmitry Chasovitin, Pianist with the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Music, St. Petersburg, Russian at the WMU Dalton Recital Hall, on the campus of WMU. This is a Free Event. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19 - AUTHOR, ROBERT ALEXANDER
6 P.M. Author Robert Alexander discussion of "Kitchen Boy" with reception to follow at Brown Hall, on the campus of WMU. Kazoo Books will be there with copies of Robert Alexander books. This is a Free Event.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20 - RECEPTION 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m - Reception with light refreshments for the Pushkin visitors, host families, and Partnership Members with mayor and city officials at Kalamazoo City Hall, 241 W. South Street, Kalamazoo – gifts & proclamations to be given.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 - 14th ANNUAL RUSSIAN FESTIVAL "Russian To The Festival" – Fetzer Center –WMU – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everything Russian: Art, Music, Food, Vendors, Drama, Dancing, Academia, Silent Auction, and Chess playing. Click on our Festival Schedule for Event times.
Admission to the Festival is $8 for adults, $4 for students and children 5 and under are free.
